App Data: The content of the digital gifts you send (custom text greetings, selected postcard visuals, and attached activation links or QR codes) and your contact network details within the app.

Device Information: Push notification tokens to notify you when a gift is ready to be opened or when a friend invites you to their circle.

Note: We do not request access to your device's address book. All contacts are added securely via unique invite links.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data solely to operate, maintain, and provide the core features of the Holdy service, including:

• Creating and managing your personal user profile.

• Delivering digital surprises and gifts to your recipients on the set unlock dates.

• Managing push notifications for gift delivery and countdown alerts.

• Improving and securing backend infrastructure.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We use trusted third-party service providers (Google Firebase) strictly for secure database hosting, user authentication, and backend computations. These providers are bound by strict data protection agreements.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is stored securely in our cloud database. You have full control over your data at any time:

Account Deletion: You can delete your account permanently directly from the Profile screen inside the app. This action immediately and permanently deletes your user profile, your connections, and all gifts you have received.

Data Modification: You can delete individual gifts or remove connections from your contact list at any time.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including data encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your personal details. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

Holdy is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under the legal age of consent, we will take steps to delete that information and terminate the account immediately.

To use certain features, you must authenticate using supported third-party services (such as Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and all activities occurring under your account.

4. User-Generated Content and Conduct

When sending a gift, you may include custom text greetings. We operate a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable, abusive, or offensive content.

• You agree not to send content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or sexually explicit.

• If you receive an unwanted or offensive gift, you can delete it immediately and remove the sender from your contact list.

• We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these content guidelines.

5. Third-Party Links and Codes

Holdy allows users to wrap third-party activation codes, QR codes, or web links inside a digital surprise. Holdy does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the validity, safety, or functionality of any third-party links or codes sent by users. You interact with such content at your own risk.

6. Intellectual Property

Common FAQs

Q: How does the countdown work?
A: When you send a gift with a countdown, the recipient will see the cover image locked with a timer. They can scratch off the cover and reveal the greeting/code only after the timer reaches zero.

Q: Will my friend see what I claimed on their wishlist?
A: No! Wishlist claims are kept secret from the list owner so that the surprise is preserved. Other friends viewing the wishlist will see it is claimed to prevent duplicate presents.

Q: How do I export my ticket to Apple Wallet?
A: Once a gift is revealed and opened, you can tap the "Add to Apple Wallet" button at the bottom of the card details to save the pass directly on your device.
